How do you store yours?

This is how I do it. A tired Ikea lampshade with a whole new look.

And...LOST...well, gonna have to watch it again tomorrow. I have no idea what the heck what is going on. Ahh feels good to have it back.

Tonight's the night. Whoa Oh.

LOST is on tonight. Happy. Happy.

Listed Tonight!

I listed these three pairs tonight. Is it wrong to say I love them so so much? Hope not because I just do. I just love them so much. Sigh...

Getting Out There, an ongoing discussion.

I will be featured in a raffle next month over at Funky Finds
Working with small indie shopping blogs feels right. They are smart and interesting.
Head over there and check it out - Funky Finds features a bunch of cool and cute stuff and makers.

Special thanks to Jessica for including me. I hope your readers enjoy my creations.

Call Me Hazy is heading out today to start her journey to Texas.

I am not faithful to the 'bucks but I do head over their way multiple times a week and drink it at home too. At home, it's Verona. When stopping in, my drink is a Grande Non-fat Sugar-Free Vanilla Latte. I've heard a rumor that you can call it a "skinny vanilla latte" but I'm too chicken to call it that and get the wrong drink! Addicted much?!

Check out these cards for others like me.

Sunday in list form

1. Making actual progress on the 25 hours of MCLE I need to get done by Feb. 1. Already listened to 4 hours today. Currently on Immigration Consequences to Criminal Convictions. This facilitator is a lot less interesting than the last guy (who actually made Class Action litigation sound like fun).

2. Our Ikea Poppy Wall Decals in action. Can you spot my DIY backsplash?

3. Finished the TBW raffle earrings last night. Here's taste for the winner.

4. I need to buy produce. Maybe I'll sign us up with an organic fruit/veggie delivery service. Do you use one? We've been out for a while and I am so tired of eating frozen.

5. These three sold in my shop last night (Come on down, Not Rational Lizzie).

and Some Prefer The Night
(see previous posts for photo)

This is when I work.

DH and my daughter are asleep at 9 and then I come alive. I work, I clean, I pluck. It's my time and I won't trade it for sleep. That's what coffee is for, right?

Tonight I finished the TBW earrings and made packaging. Tomorrow, I will finish up the poems, label the packages and set them all aside to ship on Monday. I also have 6 hours of MCLE to get done. Thankfully, it will be rainy and cold so I won't be compelled to goof off and go to the park. Not so good is that we will have to find a way to keep my almost 3 year old entertained at home.

Today I listed 4 new pairs in my etsy shop:

Candy For Dinner

My Way

Some Prefer The Night

and

For The Love of Vincent (which was almost Vincent, My Lover)

And here is a sneak of Sunday night's listing...
Doorman's Choice

4:18am. Yeah, I better get to bed.

Congratulations Momma!

I contributed to a raffle on TheBabyWearer and a special Momma won a three set mini-wardrobe of Fields of Honey earrings. The set will include one brass, one copper and one sterling pair. This is going to be a fun weekend of making and preparing. The lovelies will ship on Monday

something old is something new.

It all feels so surprisingly new. In a previous life, I sold over a thousand or more items made by me and, towards the end, it just didn't even matter. I was just so tired of making the same thing over and over again. Any joy I had once felt had long gone. Turned out, no amount of money is worth your (crafting, designing, making) mojo. I've taken that lesson and it is the #1 rule for Fields of Honey. I will make only what I love, what I'd wear and what gets me excited. It's not about what sells, but what I would want to buy. And that, that thing that makes this time so different also makes this time more personal.

Phew. So three more pairs of earrings were sold tonight and I gasped and then I cried. The tears just came and went on for a little while.

Advertising

I forget that so much of the beginning is just about getting your name out there. If no one knows who you are, they are not going to be thinking of you the next time they want earrings, right? So I bought a spot in the Gift Guide on etsy and also bought an ad on of my favorite indie shopping blogs.

My first ad.

I made the individual frames and James spent a few minutes after work putting them all together into an animated gif. I really like it. It will run for one month starting tomorrow. I am so hoping that I can capture some of those sweet folks buying valentine (did you know one of my daughter's middle names is valentine?) gifts for their girlfriends, wives, lovers, teachers, mothers, you get the idea.

And I just came up with this BONUS today - with each purchase, the recipient will receive a hand-written poem. The giver of the gift can totally take all the credit too. I was thinking something like this...

sweetness lies between us
in the way you touch my knee
and put my socks on my feet
without me saying
how cold I am.

What do you think?

Today's the Day: First Sale for FOH

A good day to start my blog. My first sale for fieldsofhoney.

Bloody Top Hat is on its way to Salem, Oregon.
Two Salem events today. Funny how that happens.

Also, I listed these tonight. Urban Resort
Another addition to my resort collection. I have one more resort pair that I will list tomorrow night (the ones James wanted to name Saber Woman ; I went with Weekenders ).

Tell me again why flickr doesn't have ready-made tags like photobucket?

I have two babies with events this weekend (Sayuri turns 1 and Baby Dare is on her way) and my new baby, fieldsofhoney, has kept me from buying and shipping presents on time. Tomorrow I must figure out (tonight my brain is toast) what I'll be able to manage on such short notice.

I also have TWENTY-FIVE hours of MCLE to get done by February 1st if I want to renew my license. Which I don't. But I will. Grr.

So at some point I need to walk away from the computer and start listening to:

Successful Trial Techniques and Strategies 3.75 hrs
The Income and Expense Declaration 3 hrs
Hold the Presses 1 hr
Written Discovery and Discovery Motions 2.25 hrs
Eliminating Bias in the Legal Hiring Process 1 hr
Ethics 2006: Cutting Edge Issues 4 hrs
Class Actions 1.75 hrs
The Bankruptcy Reform Act's One Year Mark 1 hr
Forming and Advising Nonprofit Corporations 1.75 hrs
Immigration Consequences of Criminal Convictions 3.75 hrs
California's One Action Rule 1.5 hrs
Substance Abuse and the Legal Profession 1 hr

So typing these all out make me feel a wee better. I can just pop them in the DVD player and listen while I make earrings (if only it was that easy to do all that while living under a regime ruled by an unforgiving toddler).

Maybe I can get some alone time as an advance on my birthday present in March?
