Today, Feb 29th, 2008, I am having ONE DAY SALE . Many of my works are on sale today only. After today, they will be removed and reworked. They may come back in Sterling Silver and they may be gone forever and turned into something else. Just shaking things up a bit :)
Take me to the deals!

Not enough hours
First off, I had planned to post HAPPY BIRTHDAY ESTHER on here when it was actually your birthday and not 3 days later. Sorry, girlfriend. I totally love you and thought about you on her birthday. Can you believe it has been 21 years since Feb. 23rd has been known to me as, above all else, "Esther's Birthday" - I just can't get over it some days. Life does zoom by after all.
I did not get around to listing everything. However...
Hiya Hooters (Hiya for the BBC version of The Office + Hooters for the US version)
and
Not So Odd Balls
did make it.
2 more works coming tomorrow at baby K's naptime.
HB Piers 9 through 13

Re-working
Some nights I cannot get any new work done. The kid is not feeling great or the place needs picking up or I'm just not feeling inspired. It can be a number of different things that keep me from getting into the zone. On nights like tonight, I just go through my older photographs and see if there are any that I can re-work and use for current listings that are just so-so.
Tonight, I reworked the pictures for Backyard Deck. The ones I had before just did not represent the piece very well. I hope the new photos I chose will catch a buyer's eye.
And I did manage to list a new creation tonight after all. It was a pair I'd made a few weeks ago that somehow slipped through the cracks of my well-oiled business machine.

Babywearing
One of my other passions is babywearing. I sometimes get sad thinking about the day when I won't be able to wear my baby girl.
Tonight I snagged a custom spot from my favorite mei-tai maker and fellow etsy shop, Bamberoo. Maker Edit's work is flawless and her mei-tais are a perfect fit for me and my girl. This is our Sock Monkey Bamberoo. We love it and use it all. the. time!
In other news...
I'm Sorry, You're Perfect
and
Candy For Dinner
are on their way to Colorado to grace sweet Carole's ears. Be sure to check out her fabulous Sakura Bloom slings. Sakura Blooms are gorgeous beyond words, comfortable and just expertly crafted.
Here I am wearing the little munchkin in our Sakura Bloom sling last year at my little brother's (pictured) pre-wedding dinner.

to a friend even
Although I do not expect my friends to buy my wears, it sure does feel extra special super fantastic wonderful when it happens. So, to my special friend who bought Masala Mystery Mix today....I hope you love them as much as I sure do love you ♥
Copy getting Wordy
I have a system with my copy. I decide on a name during the post-processing and then, when I start my listing, I just GO. My own gameshow! I start writing and whatever comes out is it. Lately, this is has led to a few wordier-than-usual non-descriptions like these...
100% Anticipation
First it was the picture and then the profile. We'll see. Followed by an email. Witty (non cheesy) banter. Always good. Next came the phone call. Wow. 6 hours. Was definitely not expecting that. Meet-up, yeah. How to look interested, but not too interested? You are in the right place, my friend. Taupy faceted beads hang loosely from copper earwire. 2 and 1/4 inch hang from lobe.
and this one for September in Los Angeles
Sticky hot and I can barely make it home without passing out. The French Horn on my back and textbooks that weighed 1000 lbs *exactly* didn't help much either. Respite comes in tiny distractions, like a ladybug landing on my arm. Vintage glass ladybug charm and leaf hang off a copper earwire with a sun with those dark spots that you see when it really very hot. Sigh...sometimes I miss living in Los Angeles. Or maybe it's just childhood I miss.

Forbidden Fruit, the one with the baby.
Forbidden Fruit is a recycled name. There was a time, not long ago, when my one-and-only creative outlet was paper scrapbooking. Shortly after my daughter came home to us, I changed direction and took up digital scrapbooking.
Here you have Forbidden Fruit , the first time around.

I support you. I really do.
WGA Writers. Especially writers for The Office, Lost , 24 and Flight of the Concords. I want you to get what you want. I just wish you get it soon because I'm dying here! How long has it been since a new episode of anything has been on? And I am not talking about all the garbage "new" shows they are trying to trick us with right now (Lipstick Jungle comes to mind)
So when I read this Is the Writers' Strike Nearing an End? this morning, it was like a ray of hope from above. Is it wrong to pray for tv?

First Sunday Night in Feb
These went up tonight in my shop and Fields of Honey got three new buyer feedbacks. It's been a pretty exciting Sunday all around :)
1. Pretty Fly for a Fish
2. Masala Mystery Mix
3. Brazilian BBQ
4. If I lived in Portland
And I did read that the NY GIANTS won the Super Bowl! It makes me happy to know folks in NY are celebrating tonight.

Happy 2nd Family Day to Us.
Two years ago today, I became mom to an 11 month old baby girl. Today, this baby is no longer a baby, but a curious, energetic, charismatic ball of love. I am so thankful to my amazing daughter. Not only has she brought immeasurable fun and laughter into my life, but she also helps me, everyday, to be a more patient, loving person. I hope I'm returning the favor somehow!
While taking photos of new pieces for the shop, I captured this shot of my husband and daughter, the two loves of my life. I had to share.

And today I learned how to do this: ♥
Just a few notes from today:
1. K will follow a pigeon/cat/dog/rat straight into oncoming traffic if I am not around to stop her. She loves all animals and nothing stands in the way of her reaching for one. Scary, yeah. We are working on it.
2. Life would be so much harder without babywearing. I do not even like to think about it. See number 1 for explanation.
3. At this moment, I am very pleased with my packaging. A deep-hued box, natural raffia and a Fields of Honey magnet. Here is my little one modeling. She is ready for some sort of toddler Price is Right , don't you think?
4. Paid my Bar dues and got my MCLE time card turned in on time. Woot. Now I just have to submit my affidavit to LACBA by the 4th and I am all good until 2011 :)
